Gecko Final Conference

Gecko Final Conference

We are delighted to invite you to attend the Final Conference of the GECKO project on Friday October 1st, 2021 from 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm (for Thailand and Indonesia) / 3.00 pm to 5.30 pm (for the Philippines) / 9.00 am to 11.30 am (Central European Time).

GECKO – Improving enGineers’ Employability with multi-Competencies, Knowledge and Opportunities – is a Capacity Building project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. We have been working in the period 2017-2021 to develop engineers’ capabilities and implement best practices based on employability and regional cooperation in three target countries: Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia. These objectives have been carried out through the development and implementation of a multidisciplinary curriculum supported by innovative teaching materials and modern teaching technologies.

The Final Conference aims at presenting the project results and impact, in order to share the GECKO experience and facilitate its replication within other universities in South-East Asia and other regions.

You can register for the event at this link:

GECKO

The acronym gecko derives from: Improving enGineers’ Employability with multi-Competencies, Knowledge and Opportunities.
The acronym perfectly expresses the goal set by EIC in collaboration with prestigious partner universities, such as:

  • Université de Montpellier
  • Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia
  • Vilnius Gediminas Technical University
  • Uppsala Universitet
  • Politecnico di Torino
  • Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan
  • University of the Philippines
  • Ateneo de Manila University
  • Universitas Gadjah Mada
  • Institut Teknologie Bandung
  • Burapha University
  • Ubon Rutchathani University
  • Kasetsart University

The method used to achieve the set objectives is to develop training modules in the management field, appropriately adapted to the needs of engineering students and to support training activities for teachers working in Asian countries.
